Emory Student Affairs Institute
Program Description: Institute Summer Seminars are for higher education student affairs professionals who aspire to senior and executive leadership positions, and for anyone who wishes to know more about critical aspects of higher education. The Summer Seminars are a joint initiative of Emory Campus Life and the Emory School of Law. The 2016 seminars are as follows:
- Higher Education Law
June 6 & 7 ( 2 days)
Discuss a range of critical legal and ethical challenges. Learn how different higher education laws originated, discuss current law, and use real case studies to develop best practices. - Crisis Leadership
June 8 & 9 (1.5 days)
Learn the primary components of crisis management and leadership - different kinds of crises, intervention and response structures, prevention, legal issues, and communication plans. - Budget & Finance
June 9 & 10 (1.5 days)
Learn to evaluate budget and expense reports and financial statements, develop a multi-year financial model, understand funding streams, and know what questions to ask financial professionals.
Cost:
- Early Bird Rate (extended to April 30): $600 per seminar, $1,650 for all 3.
- Regular Rate: $650 per seminar, $1,800 for all 3.
- Cost includes registration, seminar materials, breakfast, and lunch.
You must apply by April 30 to receive the early bird rate.
Location:
The Summit will be held at the Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia.
